Abstract:
Youth school-to-work transition is a complex process, with many factors of influence. For a better understanding of this process, along with structural and institutional factors, research in this area should also pay attention to individual factors, as they play an important role in young people's decision- making process. Subordinated to this goal, this paper analyses young people’s perceptions on job opportunities after finishing education as well as youth’s main concerns about their first job. Moreover, we investigate the personal characteristics that make a young person more prone to worry about possible barriers or difficulties on entering the labour market.
