Abstract: The discomfort of stress is caused by occupations, economical uncertainty and social relationships disturbed by a continuous threat of the political imperatives, all concentrated in the personal experience of each individual. Stress perceived as an epidemic was rejected many times as a myth. However there are real concerns related to the impact of the modern lifestyle upon the balance of nature, political security and economical stability of the world and even the harmony of the planet in general. The stress of employees at their workplace is not an individual guilt, it is an organizing problem. The psycho-social risks generated by stress at work are the result of a weak organization and management. They can lead to psychological, physical, social and economical negative effects.
