Abstract:
The present research aims to identify the interest of the inhabitants of Brașov to be tourists in their own city. In this sense, an online research was conducted between 12 and 24 February 2021. Data were collected from 124 participants through an online questionnaire. The study focuses on the concept of staycation, a form of vacation near the area of residence. This type of holiday proves to be useful and popular in times of crisis for tourism. Research has shown that there are certain differences between the inhabitants born in Brașov and those from other places, as well as differences between women and men, regarding the tourist interest in the city of residence. However the limitation of this study is represented by the size of the sample, 124 participants not being enough, but the resultsare interesting and can be a starting point in making further research, for example, promoting domestic tourism.
