Abstract: The paper analyzes agricultural research in Romania, examining its evolution and identifying impactful future directions. Bibliographic research utilized articles from Google Scholar, Clarivate, and ResearchGate. Data from the National Institute of Statistics were processed and interpreted. The research results revealed fluctuations in the number of research programs and associated expenses for specialized institutes. Despite agricultural research in Romania receiving comparatively more funding than other domains, it ranks at the bottom in budget allocation within the European context. These rsearch findings are valuable for informing development strategies at the level of research institutes, ministries, and within the agricultural production sector.
