On Chamberlinian-Ricardian trade patterns with many industries

Toru Kikuchi and Dao-Zhi Zeng ()

Economics Bulletin, 2004, vol. 6, issue 22, 1-9

Abstract: This note explores the determinants of trade patterns by extending a Chamberlinian-Ricardian monopolistic competition trade model to have a larger number of industries as did Dornbush, Fischer and Samuelson (1977). It will be shown that the degree of cross-country technical differences among industries plays an important role as a determinant of trade within each industry.
