A note on finance, inflation, and economic growth

Daniel Giedeman and Ryan Compton

Economics Bulletin, 2009, vol. 29, issue 2, 749-759

Abstract: This paper examines the impact of inflation on the relationship between financial development and economic growth. Using panel-data techniques applied to observations from more than seventy-five countries, we find that the positive effect of financial development on economic growth diminishes as inflation increases.
