Effect of pollution on the total factor productivity and the Hopf bifurcation

David Desmarchelier

Economics Bulletin, 2013, vol. 33, issue 3, 2328-2339

Abstract: In a recent contribution, Empora and Mamuneas (2011) find a positive relation between pollution emissions and the total factor productivity (TFP). In the present paper, we show that this positive effect reduces the effect of pollution on the marginal utility of consumption for which a limit cycle occurs.
