Abstract: This note examines the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis for municipal solid waste in 33 OECD countries between 1995 and 2012. Wang's (2013) flexible polynomial model is utilized. The results show that there exists no inverted U-shaped Environmental Kuznets Curve relationship between per capita income and Municipal Solid Waste in OECD countries. Instead, they reveal a downward sloping relationship.
