What Makes Africans Happy?

Abstract: This paper analyses the key determinants of happiness in Africa. Using both Bayesian Model Averaging (BMA), Weighted Average Least Squares (WALS) and Mallows Model Averaging (MMA) approaches to tackle the issue of model uncertainty on a panel datset of 30 African countries over the period 2006-2017, we identify a total of 13 economic, social, cultural, historical, structural and institutional factors which influence the well-being of Africans
