Abstract: Tweets by Donald Trump insulting women are associated with an increase in sexist Google searches. Variation across media markets in the sensitivity of sexist searches to these Tweets is negatively associated with Clinton's relative vote share. These results suggest a channel through which sexism was activated in a politically consequential way.
