Abstract: The article presents the problem of the need to ensure education throughout the life of the personality. There are highlighted various definitions of lifelong education given by various researchers, there is specified the purpose, objectives, characteristics, contents of lifelong education, there are described the forms and factors of lifelong education and it is elucidated the methodology of lifelong education.
