Abstract: The aim of the study is to analyze the aptitudes required for youth and activity leaders, which reflect the identity construction of people living in a prison environment. When caring for people in precarious situations, the needs of the situation and the needs of the individual must be taken into account (Kaës, 2022). Identifying the tutor's conceptualization in his management of interactions means taking into account the link between the objectives pursued and the rules of action, information gathering and control that he uses. The operational dimension of knowledge and the subjective involvement of the incarcerated person are necessary for this interpretation of the tutor's position. This raises the question of the skills required for support in order to successfully carry out the support system. An analysis of the results shows that, while support is a set of tools to facilitate self-development and self-maintenance, this process requires the person handling it to have certain skills, such as neutrality, active listening, authenticity/congruence and awareness of their limits.
