Abstract:
The study explored the motivating factors driving incarcerated individuals to pursue further education through distance e-learning while in prison. The study, conducted in a Namibian prison using interviews and thematic analysis, found that despite challenging conditions, inmates exhibit strong motivation to continue their education. The government's commitment to inmate rehabilitation through distance education programs was also noted. Challenges included intermittent assistance and occasional resistance from prison administrations.
