Abstract:
This study investigates how new developments of artificial intelligence (i.e., generative AI) are responsibly incorporated in newsrooms to support journalism in the digital age. It surveys the field by highlighting policy frameworks for good journalistic practice from external actors and newsrooms, focusing on AI regulation. The findings suggest that UNESCO and the Council of Europe have concentrated on providing recommendations on the ethics of AI, and the BBC's commitment to research and development in AI.
