Fairness degree based fairness criterion and fairing algorithm

Aizeng Wang, Gang Zhao and Yong-Dong Li

Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2015, vol. 253, issue C, 184-192

Abstract: Based on B-spline wavelets, the present work proposes the concept of fairness degree for the first time, via which a quantitative criterion is established to evaluate the fairness of curves and surfaces. Further, a new fairing algorithm is presented for B-spline curves. Finally, the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach are demonstrated by several examples.
