On closed form expressions for probability of operational success and expected lifetime

Abstract: Evatt et al. (2011) [5] claim to give closed form expressions for “probability of operational success and expected lifetime”. However, the integral expressions they provide are not in closed form according to standard convention. We derive closed form expressions by exploiting some known special functions and provide computer codes for them.
