Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2018, vol. 321, issue C, 106-120

Abstract: An element-free Galerkin (EFG) method for solving two-dimensional hyperbolic problems is derived. The proposed method is based on the weak form of the EFG method and the moving least square (MLS) approximation. Error analysis shows that the error between the numerical and exact solutions are directly related to the radius of the weight functions which influence the space and time steps. Three numerical examples are given to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.
