Abstract: In this paper, the problem of robust fault estimation observer design for continuous-time switched systems subject to unknown input is investigated. Firstly, based on the average dwell-time method and the switched Lyapunov function technique, an unknown input observer is designed for the augmented switched system by eliminating the unknown input, which can guarantee that the error system is globally uniformly asymptotically stable with a prescribed H∞ performance index. Next, the method is extended to the measurement disturbances case. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate the design and efficiency of the proposed fault estimation observer technique.
