A Uzawa algorithm with multigrid solver for a bilateral obstacle problem

Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2021, vol. 389, issue C

Abstract: In this paper, we present a numerical study of a mixed formulation of the bilateral obstacle problem with a non-homogeneous condition on the boundary. We define the discrete problem starting from the discretization, by the finite element method, of the mixed formulation, then we establish the convergence of the approximate solutions to the exact one. Next, we propose an iterative method based on an Uzawa type algorithm and a multigrid solver to solve the discrete problem. Finally, some numerical examples are given.
