Abstract:
A new plastic photovoltaic module for the encapsulation of solar cells is described. Its physical characterisation, based on a complete mechanical analysis, indicates that acrylic materials are practical, economic and durable systems for photovoltaic cells. Moreover, the encapsulation procedure, performed by means of a very simple polymerisation technique, could be easily modified for industrial application.
