Abstract:
Many of today's advanced processes for coal gasification are viable with existing state-of-the-art materials concepts. The challenge to the materials community is to improve reliability. Corrosion and/or erosion under the coal gasification atmosphere are the major problems degrading the material reliability. This paper briefly surveys the recent attempts at developing corrosion/erosion resistant materials for coal gasification processes.
