Abstract:
An available energy analysis for a petroleum refinery (a significant energy consumer) involving separation processes, as well as heating and cooling processes, was carried out in order to pinpoint energy losses. Based on an availability efficiency expression, the overall availability efficiency of the refinery was predicted to be 5·9%.
