The storage of low grade thermal energy using phase change materials

K. K. Pillai and B. J. Brinkworth

Applied Energy, 1976, vol. 2, issue 3, 205-216

Abstract: The use of phase change materials in energy storage systems is considered. The properties of such materials and the types of phase change they undergo are enumerated. Selection criteria are discussed and a list of some useful materials given. The feasibility of system designs is considered, and the generalised, basic requirements of storage systems are presented.
