Abstract:
Vapour-compression units are the most widely used refrigeration systems. Interactive computer routines have been composed, in BASIC language, in order to permit the prediction of the performances of simple, multi-evaporator multi-stage compressor vapour-compression refrigerators when employing refrigerant R-11, R-12, R-22 or R-502. Listings of the composed programs and samples of the predictions obtained are presented. Use of the programs should facilitate investigating the behaviour of refrigeration units, and in particular the selection of the most appropriate operating conditions and the identification of the optimal design specifications for a unit for a particular application.
