Abstract:
As hydrogen integration deepens in gas-electricity systems, emerging challenges such as increased transmission congestion and deviations in gas interchangeability arise. Traditional coordination approaches, focusing on holistic optimization, often lead to an imbalance where power systems monopolize the benefits from flexibility support, while natural gas systems endure higher risks and operational costs caused by excessive hydrogen absorption. This hinders coordination between different systems. To tackle the dilemma, this paper proposes a novel incentive-coordinated dispatch scheme from a multi-stakeholder view. Price signals, including dynamic subsidies and nodal gas prices, are used to balance economic benefits and operational risks. Energy conversion facilities are driven by the price differential for arbitrage. Congestion caused by hydrogen blending has also been alleviated since these risks are reflected in nodal gas prices for emergency control. Moreover, a comprehensive heterogeneous gas flow model with outperforming mathematical properties has been embedded into the coordinated optimization. Compared with traditional models, the proposed gas flow model tracks the temporal and spatial gas quality distribution, as well as reveals prominent characteristics and their impacts on dispatch. Case studies demonstrate that the coordinated dispatch scheme enhances safety, increases renewable energy absorption capacity, and improves load supply adequacy. It also alleviates gas network congestion while ensuring economic incentives, highlighting the superiority of the proposed model for dispatch purposes.
