UK government policy for refuse disposal: Actions as well as words!

Abstract: Recent pertinent legislation concerning the handling, recycling and/or disposal of domestic, municipal and industrial refuse in the UK is reviewed. At present it appears that UK energy policy is being influenced significantly by EC environmental legislation. Nevertheless, an overall strategy for dealing with garbage is needed urgently.
