Potential for solar water-pumping systems in India

A. G. Bhave

Applied Energy, 1994, vol. 48, issue 3, 197-200

Abstract: There is scope for utilisation of alternative sources of energy to replace traditional human and animal powered systems, diesel engines and electric motors for water pumping in rural areas. Solar water-pumping systems are suitable for drinking water and minor irrigation applications in areas where cheaper sources of energy are not readily available.
