A simulation model for wind turbines

Henry M. Power

Applied Energy, 1980, vol. 6, issue 5, 395-399

Abstract: The equation of motion of a wind turbine may be written as J(d[Omega]/dt) = g(V,[Omega]) - T, where J is moment of inertia, T load torque, V wind speed and [Omega] angular velocity. It is proposed that the generated torque g(V,[Omega]) may be described by an homogeneous second-degree function in V and [Omega]. This function is defined and some relevant properties are explored.
