Abstract:
The trend towards the use of high power densities and temperatures, in order to reduce plant capital costs and improve overall thermal efficiencies has led to thermal contact resistance demanding greater attention in heat transfer analyses. The concept of waviness number is recommended for use at the design stage of many engineering systems involving heat transfer across pressed contacts.
