Thermo emf in saline water and its application in solar stills

G.C. Pandey

Applied Energy, 1980, vol. 7, issue 1-3, 163-167

Abstract: This paper reports the results of a preliminary study of the thermo emf of concentration cells. The electrical output of different cells as a function of temperature and salt concentration has been determined. Results for experimental solar stills are given. The possibility of using the properties of raw saline water in solar stills for the purpose of producing electrical energy as a by-product of distillation is suggested.
