Abstract:
A solar-heated asphalt storage system has been constructed and operated for two years. The solar radiation, asphalt and ambient temperatures, auxiliary heat and differential collector temperature were monitored for the first year of operation. From these data the daily fluctuation in the emulsion temperature, the daily total solar radiation and the daily total auxiliary heat were determined.
