Applied Energy, 2009, vol. 86, issue 1, 60-67

Abstract: This paper presents new pinch targeting approaches to locate the minimum CO2-neutral and low-carbon sources for energy sector planning. Graphical targeting approach is firstly used to locate minimum consumption of low-carbon source for energy sector planning. A novel automated targeting approach is next presented to determine the optimum allocation of energy sources in a segregate planning scenario where energy targets for different sub-sectors in the planning horizon are located.
