Abstract: We study the dynamics of delay-coupled identical oscillators in relay network, and find that phase-flip mediates partial amplitude death. In the regime of partial amplitude death, parts of the system oscillate with large amplitude, and other element stays at rest or oscillates with small amplitude. Using the Stuart-Landau and Rössler oscillators, we demonstrate that partial amplitude death is a robust dynamical state in coupled oscillators. Electronic circuits are implemented to show the robustness of this phenomenon in physical systems.
