Abstract:
Coupled nonlinear Schrödinger system with negative coherent coupling in a weakly birefringent fiber is hereby studied. For the slowly varying envelopes of two interacting optical modes, analytic soliton solutions with the coalescence of eigenvalues are derived. Based on the asymptotic analyses, we find three kinds of the counterpropagating solitons, indicating that they consist of the so-called nondegenerate or degenerate solitons. From the plane-wave seed solutions with the certain eigenvalues, single-peak rogue waves are exhibited as well.
