Auto-oscillations and chaos at collective motion of agents

R.Y. Beregov and A.V. Melkikh

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2021, vol. 143, issue C

Abstract: A set (flock) of individuals moving in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional spatial representations with a constant modulus of speed, which tend to get to the center of the flock, is considered with possible delays and errors in determining the location of the center of the flock. The roles of noise in transient processes and delays in the establishment of dynamic modes are found. The period of auto-oscillations linearly depends on the delay and very weakly depends on the speed of individuals or the variance of the error. The size of the flock non-linearly depends on dispersion and weakly linearly depends on the speed of individuals.
