Abstract:
We study stochastic variability of enzyme kinetics based on a mathematical model with nonlinear recycling of the product into the substrate. Probabilistic mechanisms of noise-induced generation of mixed-mode stochastic spiking oscillations are investigated numerically and analytically. The decisive role of transient oscillatory attractors in stochastic excitation is revealed. For the analysis of these phenomena, a general mathematical approach using the apparatus of confidence domains and stochastic sensitivity of attractors is applied.
