Abstract:
A scheme is theoretically proposed to generate nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade (NUPB) via Barnett effect in a hybrid cavity magnonic system. In the hybrid cavity magnonic system, a spinning yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere is coupled to two microwave cavities. We consider one of the microwave cavities with χ(2) nonlinearity is pumped by a two-photon driving field, and the other one is driven by a weak probe field. For the spinning YIG sphere with a fixed angular speed, due to the different directions of the static magnetic field, the precession frequency of the magnon mode experiences the opposite Barnett frequency shifts, which leads to different quantum interference among two-photon excitation paths. This is also the essential reason for achieving NUPB. Moreover, switchable NUPB can be achieved by adjusting the relative phase between the two-photon driving field and the weak probe field. In addition, we demonstrate that the nonreciprocal photon statistical properties are robust to the dissipation rate and pure dephasing effect of photon mode a1. The present results illustrate the potential to achieve NUPB by utilizing the Barnett effect in a hybrid cavity magnonic system, as well as to guide the design of nonreciprocal single-photon devices.
