Synchronization of complex dynamic networks with packet loss: A novel intermittent pinning impulsive control approach

Abstract: This paper aims at investigating the problem of exponential synchronization in complex dynamic networks (CDNs), with a particular focus on the impact of packet loss. A novel intermittent pinning impulsive control (IPIC) is developed by integrating the beneficial features of intermittent control and pinning impulsive control. Distinct from the existing intermittent control schemes, IPIC actuates a fraction of nodes within CDNs at the impulsive instants during the control intervals. Building on this, to avert additional unnecessary control consumption, an event-triggered IPIC scheme predicated on the threshold value and the check period is introduced. Within this control framework, a sufficient criterion is derived to ensure the synchronization of the CDNS, thereby preventing the occurrence of Zeno behavior. Intriguingly, the definition of intermittent average impulsive interval is incorporated into the developed results, significantly broadening their applicability. Finally, the developed results are confirmed by a classical simulation example, demonstrating their effectiveness.
