Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2025, vol. 192, issue C

Abstract: This paper presents a novel predefined-time (PDT) event-triggered (ET) optimal bipartite consensus control scheme for multi-agent systems (MASs) with external disturbances. Firstly, an adaptive disturbance observer is designed to accurately estimate the external disturbances within a predefined time, and relax the condition that the upper bound of the disturbance derivative is known. Then, an ET-based consensus optimal control scheme is formulated for MASs by incorporating command filtering technology, backstepping method, and reinforcement learning algorithm. This scheme can obtain satisfactory performance and minimize performance index within a predefined time, and the PDT command filter technique can address “computation complexity” issue. In addition, a new type of dynamic ET mechanism is designed for controller that can ensure the system’s PDT stability and reduce the execution time of controller, in which the dynamic variable can achieve PDT convergence. Finally, the practical PDT stability is proved, and the Zeno behavior is excluded. The effectiveness and superiority are validated through simulation examples.
