Abstract: As context-aware technology becoming more prevalent in a variety of applications, particularly in safety fields, it is increasingly important to evaluate the safety performance of context-aware systems (CASs). This paper addresses the safe control problem of general open-loop CASs by using the algebraic state-space representation, which is developed by the tool of the semi-tensor product (STP). Based on the analysis of the hydrogeological monitoring system, which is a typical representative of CASs, a BCN model for general CASs is derived. Further, we prove that the solvability of the safe control problem of CASs is equivalent to the problem being solvable by state feedback. By the methods of admissible path and state-space partition, an algorithm is designed to determine the state feedback controller for solving the safe control problem of CASs. Finally, the examples of hydrogeological monitoring system and a smart-home system are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.
