Abstract: We theoretically investigate optomechanically induced transparency in a whispering-gallery-mode optomechanical microresonator coupled to a tunable phase shifter. By controlling the optical phase, the coupling strength between the resonator modes can be modulated, enabling the realization of an exceptional point (EP) in the system. This EP engineering significantly modifies the probe signal’s transmission rate, group delay, and second-order sideband generation. Notably, near the EP, the system exhibits a sharply enhanced optical response to minute phase perturbations caused by external targets or fields, suggesting its potential for phase detection. Our results demonstrate a scalable and chip-compatible approach to engineering EP-assisted cavity optomechanical platforms via phase shifter, with potential applications in optical communication and phase sensing.
