Abstract: Aiming at the problems of simple attractor structures in multi-scroll chaotic systems and the difficulty in constructing attractors with specific self-similar structures, this paper investigates the generation and fractal design of multi-structural chaotic attractors. Based on the rotating multi-scroll Chua's chaotic system, a novel multi-scroll chaotic system is proposed by introducing multi-level functions, where the shape, expansion direction, and number of attractor structural units can be flexibly regulated via parameters. Furthermore, the Julia fractal mapping method is employed to generate attractors with a larger number of scrolls. A fractal chaotic system is then constructed using the combination of two iterative mappings as the basic unit, yielding attractors with specific self-similar structures. The application of chaotic sequences processed by Julia mapping to image encryption demonstrates effective resistance against statistical attacks. This study enriches the construction methods of multi-scroll chaotic systems and provides a new approach for the design of attractors with self-similar structures.
