Abstract:
To check whether double stochastic resonance (SR) occurs in an integrate-and-fire (IF) neuron with input noise, a further insight into SR of the IF neuron is made. The evolution of the interspike intervals’ (ISIs) stationary probability peaks versus the noise intensity and the optimal noise intensity of SR is compared, and the inconsistency between them is disclosed. It is shown that the double SR does not occur in the neuron, but the resonance with structures similar to those of the double SR indeed exists when the input frequency is low. It is also shown that SR in the neuron is related to stochastic phase locking, but not confined to the 1:1 pattern.
