Topological invariants in nonlinear boundary value problems

Sandra Vinagre, Ricardo Severino and J. Sousa Ramos

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2005, vol. 25, issue 1, 65-78

Abstract: We consider a class of boundary value problems for partial differential equations, whose solutions are, basically, characterized by the iteration of a nonlinear function. We apply methods of symbolic dynamics of discrete bimodal maps in the interval in order to give a topological characterization of its solutions.
