Chaotic behavior in sampled-data control systems with saturating control

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2006, vol. 30, issue 1, 147-155

Abstract: This paper discusses the sufficient conditions for chaotic behavior in sampled-data control systems with a saturating actuator by applying Marotto’s theorem. First, it is shown that the sampling signal of a simple one-dimensional state-feedback sampled-data control system with sampling period T is chaotic in the sense of Li and Yorke if T>T1∗. In particular, an explicit formula for the computation of T1∗ is obtained. Next, this result is applied to a class of n-dimensional sampled-data control systems. Finally, the presented theory results are verified by two examples.
