Exact travelling wave solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations

Abstract: An extended Fan-sub equation method is developed for searching exact travelling wave solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations. The key idea of this method is to take full advantage of the general elliptic equation, involving five parameters, which has more new solutions and whose degeneracies can lead to special sub equation involving three parameters. As an illustration of the extended Fan method, more new solutions are obtained for three models namely, generalized KdV, Drinfeld–Sokolov system and RLW equation.
