The secant–homotopy continuation method

Tzong-Mou Wu

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2007, vol. 32, issue 2, 888-892

Abstract: A new secant–homotopy continuation formula is presented. In this paper, the traditional Newton–Raphson method is modified by the secant theory, and the homotopy continuation technique is applied to a new secant–homotopy continuation formula. By means of adjusting the auxiliary function, we can solve the nonlinear equations and guarantee the solutions exactly without divergence rather than the traditional numerical methods such as the Newton–Raphson method.
