Periodic solutions of Duffing equation with strong non-linearity

Abstract: In this paper, the variational iteration procedure is described and used to give approximate periodic solutions for Duffing equation with strong non-linearity. A correction functional is constructed by a general Lagrange multiplier, which can be identified via the variational theory. The approximate period of motion obtained by using this method is compared with the exact period known in the literature.
