New approach on robust stability for uncertain T–S fuzzy systems with state and input delays

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2009, vol. 40, issue 5, 2329-2339

Abstract: This paper proposes an approach for robust delay-dependent stability of a class of uncertain fuzzy systems with state and control input delays. The key features of the approach include a kind of Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional and a descriptor model transformation with a recent result on bounding of cross products of vectors. Unlike existing methodologies, the proposed approach does not involve free weighting matrices. It can, however, lead to much less conservative stability criteria than the existing ones for the systems under consideration. Numerical examples show that the proposed criteria improve the existing results significantly with much less computational effort.
