Abstract:
A transcriptional gene network cascade with activation or repression coupling is analysed. For different promoter activity functions and different degradation rate of transcription factors we show that a proteomic signal is propagating along the cascade in the form of a kink wave. It represents the time evolution of transcription factor distribution showing a successive gene expression along the cascade. Biological implications are discussed.
